About EMPYRA Mining Innovations
EMPYRA Mining Innovations (EMI) is a company incorporated under Cameroonian law, operating in the mining sector. EMI aims to leverage innovation and mining intelligence to contribute to the development of sustainable practices that positively impact mining operations in Cameroon.
Our Vision
To contribute to the establishment of sustainable and innovative mining practices, aligned with the environmental, social, and economic aspirations of the State of Cameroon.
Our Missions
To respond effectively and innovatively to the challenges of sustainable and responsible mining, as highlighted in EITI reports, in compliance with the Cameroonian Mining Code, as well as international standards such as ISO 20305, ISO 14001, and IRMA.
Our Strategy
The mining sector in Cameroon is characterized by the predominance of artisanal exploitation of mineral resources, often resulting in negative social and environmental impacts.
Our strategy primarily consists of providing sustainable and innovative solutions to the challenges arising from extractive activities:
- Organizing artisanal miners into viable legal entities (cooperatives)
- Training miners in sustainable mining techniques and safety, in line with ILO Recommendation No. 183 on safety and health in mines
- Strengthening local community involvement and promoting social dialogue
- Planning and financing mine site rehabilitation and closure
- Rehabilitating degraded or abandoned artisanal mining sites
- Management of mining waste and tailings
- Establishing digital traceability mechanisms for artisanal mining flows
- Implementing monitoring processes for CSR commitments
- Integrating mining intelligence tools into planning, operations, and site rehabilitation processes
Cooperation
The Cameroonian Mining Code and the National Mining Company of Cameroon now provide an attractive legal framework for mining activities in the country.
EMI, as a responsible and innovative mining intelligence company, fully adheres to this operational framework and aims to develop strategic and operational partnerships to positively and sustainably impact the quality of mining operations in Cameroon.
